How Wedding Planners Can
Partner With Inner Space
Phoenix · Scottsdale · Paradise Valley
Wedding planners carry a lot: the timeline, the client, the family dynamics, the venue rules, the vendor team, the budget, the weather, the room flip, the “quick question” that is never quick, and the fifty tiny things no one else sees.
The last thing you need is a rental or design partner who adds to that list instead of shortening it.
At Inner Space, our goal is straightforward: help bring your event vision to life without stepping on your toes, overcomplicating the process, or sending you chasing ten pieces from ten different vendors. Whether you need full event design support or just the right rentals to complete a plan that’s already set, we can work with you in whatever way fits the wedding.
Picture a recent Paradise Valley reception. The planner had the layout locked, but the sweetheart table read flat against the ballroom’s dark wood paneling. We didn’t touch the floor plan. We brought in a low amber-toned arch, warm brass candle clusters, and a change to the linen weight, and that one moment became the photo the couple led their album with.
THAT’S THE PARTNERSHIP WE’RE BUILT FOR
OPTION ONE
Design Support for the Bigger Picture
Some weddings need more than a few rental pieces. They need a full environment built around a vision. This is where our design services come in: lounge areas, ceremony backdrops, reception layouts, floral-forward moments, bars, draping, lighting, specialty pieces, and custom installations.
This doesn’t mean we take over the wedding. We know planners are usually holding the full client relationship and the overall event vision, and our role is to support that vision, sharpen the visual details, and help execute the design so it feels intentional from the guest’s first impression to the final room reveal.
Design support tends to help when:
- A couple has a strong vision but needs help translating it into physical space.
- The venue is beautiful but needs warmth, texture, or more visual impact.
- The planner wants a creative partner to help build out the design direction.
- The event spans multiple spaces that need to feel like one story.
- The client wants something custom or layered, more elevated than standard rentals alone.
In this kind of partnership, we handle creative direction, visual concepts, rental selections, custom design elements, and installation details. You stay in your role as the planner. We come in as a design and execution partner.
OPTION TWO
Rentals That Support Your Existing Design
Sometimes the design is already clear. You know the palette, the room, and exactly what’s needed. In that case, we’re simply your rental partner.
Our inventory covers ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, lounges, bars, tablescapes, lighting, and styled focal points: furniture, candle holders, lanterns, chandeliers, rugs, pillows, bars, backdrops, and specialty decor, depending on the event.
This option works best when the design direction is already handled and you just need the right pieces to complete it. Come to us with a rental list, a mood board, a floor plan, or even a general idea, and we’ll pull options that make sense for the space, the guest count, and the feeling you’re building toward.
OPTION THREE
A Hybrid Approach
Some weddings don’t need full design support, but they need more than a basic rental order.
You may have the overall direction handled but want another set of hands on a few specific moments: a ceremony backdrop, a lounge area, a custom bar, layered candlelight, a sweetheart table. In this kind of partnership, we support exactly those areas, without taking over the full event design.
How We Work With Wedding Planners
Trust matters here. When a planner brings us into a wedding, we’re joining your vendor team, and that means communication, follow-through, and respect for your role are non-negotiable.
When we partner with planners, we aim to be:
- Clear about what’s included.
- Respectful of your client relationship.
- Collaborative without adding chaos.
- Honest about what will and won’t work in a space.
- Thoughtful about budget, timing, and install logistics.
- Focused on a finished event that feels like one clear idea, not a patchwork of vendors.
We can be involved as much or as little as the event calls for. Some planners bring us into early design conversations. Others send a rental list once the concept is finalized. Both work for us.
When to Bring Us In
The earlier we’re brought in, the more we can help with design direction, rental availability, layout decisions, and custom pieces.
For design-heavy weddings, connect once the venue is booked and the direction is starting to form. For rental-only weddings, we can usually jump in once you have a clearer sense of the space, guest count, and rental needs.
Working with a shorter timeline? Reach out anyway. We’ll tell you what’s realistic and where we can be most useful.
What to Send Us
- The wedding date.
- The venue.
- Guest count.
- A mood board or inspiration images.
- A floor plan, if available.
- Any pieces or areas you already know you need help with.
- Whether you’re looking for design support, rentals, or a mix of both.
You don’t need everything figured out before reaching out. A starting point is enough.
